Welsh Dragon Number Plates

from £2.00
The Welsh Dragon is the optional printed flag for a Welsh number plate made by us: the red dragon on a white and green ground, the national flag of Wales, known in Welsh as Y Ddraig Goch. It prints on the left edge of the plate face and can be added to any plate style we make, from printed and 3D gel to each of our 4D styles. It is the flag flown across Wales and at Welsh sporting fixtures, and drivers choose it to mark the car as Welsh.
Fits
Any car, van or motorbike plate we make, in any style, except our hex plates, which have no space for a flag. The dragon is printed onto the plate as part of the reflective face when we make it. For a British marking instead, see the Union Flag.
A national flag on the left of a UK plate is allowed under the UK rules, and the Welsh flag is one of the permitted choices. It replaces nothing the law requires on the plate. The dragon does not itself make the plate legal in another country. Look up the rules of any country you drive in before you go.
What to order
Choose the Welsh Dragon as the flag option when you set up your plates in the builder. We need the documents listed on our valid documents page before we make the plates.

WALES. We print WALES beneath the dragon. The rules also allow CYMRU or CYM, but WALES is the only identifier we offer with this flag.
GOV.UK says a number plate with the national flag of Wales requires a UK sticker when driving abroad. You do not need one in Ireland. The flag does not by itself make the plate legal abroad; check the requirements of the countries you will drive through. The rules are on GOV.UK's page about flags, identifiers and stickers.
